Chamber Music Festival in Český Krumlov taking pace this year from 29 June to 8 July is set to please not only classical music lovers but also fans of other genres.
The Festival will open on 29 and 30 June with the Baroque Night on the Castle Český Krumlov. This will be an evening celebrating music, dance and opera. Participants will be transported to a Baroque ball with dancing, ballet and theatrical perfomances taking place in the Masque Hall. This will be followed by a performance in the Baroque theatre with an opera Terpischora by Georg Friedrich Händel. Performing will be opera soloists Irena Troupová, Barbora Kohoutková, Dagmar Šašková, dance ensemble Hartig Ensemble and Musica Florea orchestra. The evening will culminate in the Castle gardens with a unique 18th century style feast and with Baroque fireworks.
The Festival will take place in different places in Český Krumlov. An organ concert by Drahomíra Matznerová and Jan Hasenöhrl will take place in the St. Vitus Church on 1 July. The same day will see a famous trio from Prague perform in the Masque Hall - Guarneri Trio Prague. A non-classical music genre will be represented by jazz with a performance by Dixieland band Brass Band Prague and an excellent trombonist and singer Josef "Bažík" Pavelka.
The Festival will see among others performances by a leading Czech violinist Pavel Eret, a top piano player Suzanne Hlinka, Czech soloists of international reputation Isang Yun Trio, a successful piano player from Salzburg Irma Kliauzaite, violinist Gabriela Demeterová and others.
