With summer comes a music festival with the oldest tradition in town. Due to being favoured by renowned domestic and international musicians, the once modest local event has gradually grown into a popular cultural event of immense world repute.

At the end of March and begin of April, Český Krumlov will celebrate the most important Christian holiday - Easter.

After centuries, the timeless works of Baroque artists – architects and music composers – meet once again to create a one-of-a-kind cultural event.

The famous Lords of Rožmberk (Rosenberg) who once owned the dominion are back! The spirit of the Renaissance age is brought back to life for three days with the hubbub of jousts, craft fairs, medieval music, street plays, and fencing duels to culminate with the highlight of the festival – a spectacular procession in historical costumes.

The first cross-border land exhibition ever will open in 2013 in the South Bohemian Region. It aims to present the intertwined fates of the two nations and help to reinforce common links. Exhibitions gates will open in April 2013 and individual expositions will be on display until November same year in several towns in Southern Bohemia and Upper Austria.

The most photogenic festival of the year The Open – Air PHOTO festival will liven up the whole Český Krumlov.

Jihočeská komorní filharmonie (JKF) České Budějovice” is the official name of the orchestra, which was established in 1981 under the name of “Jihočeský státní orchestr” (South Bohemian State Orchestra). The orchestra currently has 37 members and it is the only professional philharmonic orchestra in the district of South Bohemia.
