
Český Krumlov State Castle with its architectural standard, cultural tradition, and expanse ranks among the most important historic sights in the central European region. Originally Gothic castle from 13th century was enlarged in 14th century and it was rebuit in the Renaissance style in 16th century. In 17th and 18th centuries the castle was modified in the Baroque and the Rococo style.After the castle tour, but also after the visitor sees the garden and the whole area of the castle he or she can feel like in the Middle Ages when the nobility walked through the corridors.

Adalbert Stifter´s Monument is situated in the writer's natal house. The building can be characterized as a small-town ground floor cottage with the farming estate. In archival documentation it was mentioned for the first time as early as the beginning of 17th century.

The National Heritage Institute is preparing a unique project in Český Krumlov; the new Castle Museum will be open to visitors all-year round. The Museum will be located in the so called Little Castle with a tower located on the 2nd Castle courtyard and currently not in use. The Castle Museum will start its operation during the month of January 2011.

The aim of the museum exhibition in the ground floor of a house at the mill flume in the center of the town is to present documentation of the restoration of the city, which is detected by the development of interiors and facades of the building and some details of various local crafts townhouses.

Welcome in the Museum Fotoatelier Seidel! In unique place where tradition of photography sprang up in the 19th century, in place where Time stood still.

This small museum was founded thanks to the Village Authority in Bujanov, in cooperation with the Society for the Maintenace of the Horse-drawn Railway, and the South Bohemian Museum in České Budějovice.

Exposition is installed in two ground floor rooms. The first room introduces history of village Hořice na Šumavě and surrounding municipalities.

Fairy Tale House in Český Krumlov - Puppet Cabinet of the National Museum - The puppets have been borrowed from the Theatre Department of the National Museum and from the Náprstek Museum of Asian, African and American Cultures in Prague.

At the present time the Regional Museum administers 22 000 registered items of the collection fund, i.e. next to 34 000 objects. The museum library contains a set of 5 000 books, more than 1/5 has a collection character.

Municipal Theater Czech Krumlov builds on the rich, more than five hundred year old theater tradition in Czech Krumlov.
