Dear Friends -- Working the overnight shift at a radio station in New York City, I have some time on my hands, and have stumbled across your beautiful site, quite by accident. I`ve been reading Gibbon`s _Decline & Fall of the Roman Empire,_ and have become quite interested in Central and Eastern Europe. We in the United States have nothing to compare to the magnificent sites in the Old World. I have a summer cottage in upstate New York, where can be found some of the oldest structures in the New World. They are mostly Dutch, and date to the 17th Century. They are simple stone dwellings, serviceable and durable. Some have burned entirely, except for the stonework, and been rebuilt. These old stone buidlings are mostly farm houses, although there are some public buildings. The oldest building in New York City is a bar! That`s Fraunces Tavern in lower Manhattan. Faced with structures of similar age in Europe, I`m reminded forcefully that we were a colony, here, and my summer home, a quick drive from the city, was once one of the more remote places on the planet. Anyway, your website is beautiful, your castle is beautiful. The detailed notes and historical insights are fascinating. The format makes everything so accessible, and all the links work, not always the case on some of the web sites I`ve visited. I`ve been back to read about Cesky Krumlov Castle three times, and just now discovered that you keep bears there! It`s simply wonderful. You are justifiably very proud of your castle, and your town. I am humble in the face of such grand antiquity. I hope I can visit someday. Best wishes, Mary Fairchild

I had difficulty opening the town, region and map sections in English. The buttons appeared at the top of the page and it read "done" at the bottom, but none of the information appeared! I have Netscape Navigator for a browser. Perhaps I was doing something wrong, but I don`t think so. I did get into the castle section of the site. Downloading it was slow, but it worked. Thanks much for your help. Sounds like a part of the world I would like to visit someday. Best wishes, Susan Allen
