Please tell me more about the architect KAFKA. What was his first name? What were his dates and where did he live?

Also what else did he design?

Many thanks, Celia Male [UK]

My anscestors have been traced by successive generation to a Johann von Rosenberg who was belehnt land(given land to use for his tithe to the church) in Livonia (now Latvia) in 1511. When his great grandson applied for membership in the Knights Association in Kurland, he stated that his family came from Moravia. We have been unable to make a direct connection to Moravia or Bohemia. Also there was an earlier Matz or Mathias von Rosenberch in Lovonia (records in 1474) but we have made no connection. Any help or suggestions on how to proceed in the search for the source. Thanks
Answer:
Dear Mr. Rosenberg!
We are sorry we can not help you. Try to contact State Central Archives in Prague (e-mail: na@mvcr.cz; http://www.nacr.cz)

Dear Sir/Maam:

We would like permission to use of the image of the vatican found on website:
http://www.ckrumlov.cz/obr/region/histor/1407b.jpg

We will be including this image, along with multiple other images related to the Tree of Life, in a poster, possibly in a coffee table type photo book, and possibly in other books or items as part of a product line focused on the theme of The Tree of Life. Our purpose here is to promote and stimulate awareness about the concept of The Tree of Life, and the very important message it suggests in these times of ever increasing strife among people of different faiths. Namely, that message is that there is a common unifying symbol that has symbolized the passage of information from a God, or unifying force if you prefer, to all humans of all faiths throughout all generations, and that that symbol illustrates the interconnectedness and commonality of all people of all faiths.

Though this is a start-up endeavor with nominal capital at this time, we reasonably believe that over time, and through several different distribution channels, we will be able to reach enough people and stimulate enough thought to make this a very worthwhile endeavor. We will give credit to the sources and would greatly appreciate the use of your image as part of this effort.

Alternatively, if this image is something you located from someone else, please let us know how to contact that person; and, if it is in the public domain, we would appreciate knowing that also.

Additionally, we would be grateful for access to a higher-resolution or higher-quality version of this image, preferably in the 300 pixels/inch range. If this is possible, I will have the person compiling these images contact you directly, to save forwarding and re-forwarding of large files.

Very sincerely yours,

Kathy Coleman
