The State Castle and Chateau Český Krumlov as the flagship of the National Heritage Institute's project In the Footsteps of Noble Families.

This year's 12th prestigious National Heritage Institute's project "In the Footsteps of Noble Families" will focus on the phenomenon of festive moments that formed an integral part of life in castles and chateaux. How did the nobility entertain themselves in the past? Aristocratic entertainment, tournament jousting, hunting pastimes, lavish banquets, balls and theatres, garden festivals, fireworks... This and much more will be presented in the Year of Noble Festivities, involving thirty-two heritage monuments across the country.

The exhibition entitled "Noble Festivities and Entertainments" open in the new Chateau Gallery in Český Krumlov from July to October 2022 sums up the entire theme. In addition to the exhibition, other events will include thematic curatorial tours or period dance classes for the public. Český Krumlov Castle will also be the main centre of the traditional Castle Bonfire Night, which will take place on 27 August across the country (evening and night tours of monument sites, accompanying programmes).
