Port 1560 Gallery
The gallery is part of Port 1560, a cultural centre located in the grounds of a historic brewery in Český Krumlov. It is housed in the former Renaissance palace – the widow’s residence of Anna of Rogendorf – and combines the unique genius loci of the historic building with contemporary visual art.
The gallery focuses on temporary exhibitions by Czech and international artists and presents a varied programme including solo projects, thematic exhibitions and collaborations with major institutions, such as the Hollar Artists Association. Throughout the year, the gallery presents spring, summer and winter exhibition projects, regularly changing its programme and offering visitors new artistic experiences.
An integral part of the gallery is the graphic art studio, a fully equipped creative space where art workshops for children and adults, guided programmes accompanying exhibitions, creative sessions and educational programmes for schools are regularly held. Under the guidance of experienced instructors, visitors can try out various printmaking techniques and gain an insight into the process of creating original graphic art.
Port 1560 Gallery is therefore not only a place where art is exhibited, but, thanks to its own graphic art studio, also a space where art is created.
