Boating restrictions_Plesivec_Cesky Krumlov

From 18 May to 10 November 2026, the reconstruction of the Plešivec bridge (road II/160) will affect boating on the Vltava River in Český Krumlov. Depending on the phase of construction, passing under the bridge will either be prohibited or possible only through a marked corridor. A designated land portage route for boats is available throughout the entire period.

18 May – 18 June 2026: No passage – portage required

Passing under the bridge is not possible. Boats must be carried overland along the marked portage route.

What to do:

  1. Exit the water on the right bank before the bridge (prepared terrain).
  2. Walk under the temporary bridge structure (safe underpass).
  3. Carry your boat along the marked route around the construction site (signed with information boards).
  4. Re-launch behind the bridge → slipway, wooden steps and a temporary dock are available.

⚠️ Do not enter the closed section of the river. Do not enter the construction site. Follow all current signage and the instructions of construction staff. Restrictions may change depending on the progress of construction and water levels.

19 June – 20 October 2026: Restricted passage – corridor

Passing under the bridge is permitted, but only through the marked navigation corridor.

What to do:

  1. Follow the navigation signage and the guidance into the corridor (info boards on the bank and on the water).
  2. Proceed slowly; do not overtake. In case of high flow or poor visibility, exercise extra caution.

Alternatively, you may portage overland:

  1. Exit the water on the right bank before the bridge (prepared terrain).
  2. Walk under the temporary bridge structure (safe underpass).
  3. Carry your boat along the marked route around the construction site (signed with information boards).
  4. Re-launch behind the bridge → slipway, wooden steps and a temporary dock are available.

⚠️ Do not pass outside the marked corridor. Do not overtake inside the corridor. Do not enter the construction site. Follow all current signage and the instructions of construction staff. Restrictions may change depending on the progress of construction and water levels.

21 October – 10 November 2026: No passage – portage required

Passing under the bridge is not possible. Boats must be carried overland along the marked portage route (same as in the period 18 May – 18 June, see map above).

What to do:

  1. Exit the water on the right bank before the bridge (prepared terrain).
  2. Walk under the temporary bridge structure (safe underpass).
  3. Carry your boat along the marked route around the construction site (signed with information boards).
  4. Re-launch behind the bridge → slipway, wooden steps and a temporary dock are available.
