Picasso Life | exhibition

The legacy of a master who influenced modern art.

Pablo Picasso – a fascinating artist and person, one of the most significant artists of the 20th century and an icon of Cubism. His original work and life story are revealed through the exhibition Picasso Life.

The exhibition offers a unique opportunity to explore prints, lithographs, drawings, documentary materials, and films revealing Picasso's passion for animals, objects, nature, women and mythology. Also part of the exhibition is a collection of ceramics and photographs from the master's personal life, as well as a collection of posters from galleries and exhibitions around the world, documenting how Picasso’s work has been presented.

The work of Pablo Picasso is essentially a diary of the artist's life and his relationship with reality. What is central to Picasso's creative output is the unceasing drive for self-transcendence and the moments of searching and discovery – defining characteristics of the avant-garde spirit that stayed with him throughout his life. "I do not seek, I find. Nobody pays attention to a person walking with eyes fixed on the ground, searching for something. But the moment he bends down and picks something up, everyone wants to know what he found," says Picasso, who through his work simultaneously asks and answers. "I am always doing what I cannot do, in order to learn how to do it."
