The little merchant settlement of Krumbenowe

Prehistoric & Medieval Culture Fair – the Merchant Settlement

How did the landscape shape people — and how did people transform the landscape? What traces did our ancestors leave behind, and what traces will we leave for future generations? Where did the raw materials, foods, and supplies that we take for granted today come from? What can actually be made and used from the materials found all around us, and what would our surroundings actually look like if people had never become farmers?

The eighth annual Krumbenowe Prehistoric and Medieval Culture Fair will open the gates of the Brewery Garden in Český Krumlov on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at 10:00 as part of the European Heritage Days.

Alongside the traditional showcase of prehistoric and medieval crafts, expert talks, and workshops, visitors can once again enjoy the popular trail for children and adults alike, as well as the Museum in the Garden. Throughout the day, a host of prehistoric and medieval experiences awaits, culminating in the evening with the lively medieval rhythms of Bohemian Bards.
