Organ Matineé | Festival Krumlov

Christophe Mantoux, Baroque and Renaissance music

This year’s guest, the Mecca of Organists masterclass teacher and a teacher at the City Conservatory of Paris, Christophe Mantoux will play on the royal instrument at the Church of Corpus Christi and Our Lady of Sorrows. The audience will hear the best compositions from 17th-century composers – Dietrich Buxtehude and Jan Pieterszoon Sweelinck, or compositions by Georg Muffat, a baroque organ player and traveler, who had also lived in Prague and merged music from all over Europe in his masterpieces. The concert will end with Renaissance music by an unknown composer from the collection of the famous French musical publisher, Pierre Attaingnant.
