The Festival Krumlov (Český Krumlov International Music Festival) has been held since 1992 and today, thanks to the combination of the attractive environment of the historic town and music of many genres, it is a permanent component of the European cultural calendar.

The festival profiles itself as a multi-genre music showcase, offering a wide range of music from the 15th to the 21st century, from classical music and opera to musical, jazz, world music and other genres.

Concerts are held in the interiors and exteriors of the Krumlov castle, in the brewery gardens, as well as in other representative areas of the town. The uniqueness of the environment and the very strong atmosphere has attracted many leading foreign and Czech performers to Krumlov. Every year, the Krumlov festival presents the best of the world music scene.

Over the years, the festival has welcomed such world music personalities as Plácido Domingo, Jonas Kaufmann, Renée Fleming, José Cura, Ramón Vargas, Broadway soloists or Piotr Beczała. Czech artists include Adam Plachetka, Eva Urbanová, Dagmar Pecková, Václav Hudeček, Pavel Šporcl, Jiří Bárta and many others. At the same time, the festival also gives opportunities to young and emerging artists.
