Festival Krumlov

The festival offers a wide range of classical music from the 15th to the 21st century, including symphonic works, opera, ballet, choir pieces and chambre music. The festival combines music with ballet, drama, pantomime, and original stage design. Concerts are held in the interiors and exteriors of the Krumlov castle, in the brewery and monastery garden, as well as in other representative and experimental areas of the town. The uniqueness of the environment and the very strong atmosphere has attracted many leading foreign and Czech performers to Krumlov. Every year, the Krumlov Festival presents the best of the world music scene. 

Over the years, the festival has welcomed such world music personalities as Plácido Domingo, Jonas Kaufmann, Renée Fleming, José Cura, Ramón Vargas, Broadway soloists or Piotr Beczała. Czech artists include Adam Plachetka, Eva Urbanová, Dagmar Pecková, Václav Hudeček, Pavel Šporcl, Jiří Bárta and many others. At the same time, the festival also gives opportunities to young and emerging artists.

From July 12 to August 3, 2024, the 33rd season of Festival Krumlov will offer 19 concerts of the main program, that take place in 13 exceptional locations, 3 of them for the first time. The festival will celebrate the Year of Czech Music with its main and accompanying program. For the first time in the Czech Republic, a rising star violinist Esther Abrami will perform, and also accordionist Ksenija Sidorová with horn player and conductor Radek Baborák. The accompanying programme in the Festival Zone will offer free cross-genre concerts, musical picnics and workshops, art activities and entertainment for the whole family.
