Michal Gabriel (born 1960)
A cross-section of the work of the original Czech sculptor will feature, among others, famous pieces including horses, jaguars, sharks, players, and dancers, as well as the latest experiments with a 3D printer. The exhibition will be presented in the halls of the Egon Schiele Art Center in Český Krumlov and partially in the outdoor spaces of the castle in Týnec (near Klatovy).
Alois Riedl (*1935)
A retrospective celebrating his 90th birthday. The paintings of Austrian artist Alois Riedl, showcased as part of the Český Krumlov exhibition, illustrate the development of his internationally acclaimed work over the past 50 years. Riedl's style oscillates between representational and abstract painting, skillfully and boldly crossing the boundaries of both. In the 1990s, he discovered the circle as an optimal shape, evoking new processes in his work that move towards three-dimensionality.
