Unexpected Baroque – Opening Ceremony | Festival Krumlov

Music of Baroque masters, dancing on the water, surprising artistic concepts and of famous soloists

The opening concert in the Baroque castle garden will combine the timeless music of the Baroque masters with modern dance and scenography right on the water. The audience will be drawn into the atmosphere by the journey itself. The baroque characters of RUN OPERUN will lead guests to an enchanting natural setting with an auditorium among the treetops. An impressive baroque fireworks display will round off the evening, which will be a meeting of history and contemporary times.

The interpretation of the Barocco sempre giovane ensemble under the baton of Vojtěch Spurný will be highlighted by soloists – Slovak soprano Simona Houda-Šaturová and Venezuelan trumpeter Pacho Flores. On the water itself, Ida Victoria Nowakowska, Polish-American star, dancer and choreographer, will perform in her own choreography with a group of ballet masters.
