Professional dancer, dance instructor, Cuban artist, choreographer Rafael is an exceptional professional Cuban dancer, world champion in partner salsa, and musician who has been dancing and playing instruments since the age of seven. He studied at the Dance National School and was a member of Danza Contemporanea de Cuba. In London, he performed in the show Lady Salsa. He won the Open World Salsa Championship twice, in 2001 and 2002. Together with his partner Yanet Fuentes, he performed at festivals across the UK, Asia, and Latin America. They worked on various theatre productions, such as Body of People, Opera Aida in Italy, Strictly Ballroom, and many others. He moved to Prague in 2011, where he joined the dance group Grupo de Baile Tradición. He has continued to perform and play at festivals and on TV shows such as The Voice, Golden Prague, CNP, Rocky, and Tarzan. He is currently involved in various Latin projects in Prague and also teaches salsa and more.
