Circus Meanders – Contemporary Circus and Theatre Festival

The second edition of the Circus Meandres festival will take place from 24 to 26 June 2026. This year, the festival expands its scope – in addition to the City Park, the historic town centre will also come alive.

Contemporary circus is attracting growing audiences of all generations. As a modern form of theatre, it combines acrobatics, dance, physical theatre, live music and visual arts. Performances are often wordless, yet highly expressive – offering not only excitement and the beauty of movement, but also emotion, humour and moments for reflection.

Circus Meandres is more than just a festival – it is a space for meeting, curiosity and inspiration. It is organised by the town of Český Krumlov in cooperation with the team behind the renowned Letní Letná festival, which has been shaping the contemporary circus scene for over two decades.

This year, visitors can look forward to an original contemporary circus acrobatic show created specifically for the town and the festival, as well as other open-air performances, including those by Cirk La Putyka. The popular family show Teacrobat by Cirko Hopley will also return, alongside a wide range of circus workshops. A new highlight of this year’s edition is a circus parade through the town, bringing the festival atmosphere into the streets and engaging audiences of all ages.
