Trio Incendio: Forgotten Contemporaries | Festival Krumlov

Works by well-known and lesser-known composers by one of Europe's most outstanding young ensembles

Although the Incendio Trio has not been on the music scene for long, it has already established itself as one of the most outstanding young European ensembles. It regularly performs in the best European halls such as the Wigmore Hall, the Berlin Philharmonic and the Rudolfinum in Prague. This is the second time that the ensemble will perform at the Krumlov Festival.

The concert, subtitled Forgotten Contemporaries, will focus on both compositional greats whose works are notorious and need no introduction and their almost forgotten contemporaries. The Polish composer and pianist of Czech origin Franciszek Lessel studied together with Joseph Haydn. Andrzej Panufnik, also Polish and a contemporary of Dmitri Shostakovich, was a more famous conductor than composer in his lifetime. Among other things, he was instrumental in rebuilding the Warsaw Philharmonic after the end of World War II. All visitors to the concert will be able to see how much the contemporaries and composer colleagues influenced each other.
