The connection between Egon Schiele and Český Krumlov has a new dimension. The dance performance you can experience in front of the Revolving Theatre is inspired by this Austrian artist's life, paintings, poems and letters.

Meet Egon Schiele from July 26 until August 3, 2024 at the open air theatre in the Castle Garden. The colourful and breathtaking dance spectacle Egon Schiele – Self Portrait is performed by the South Bohemian Theatre Ballet and directed by the SKUTR Duo (Martin Kukučka and Lukáš Trpišovský). Choreography: Jan Kodet, music: Petr Kaláb, set: Martin Chocholoušek, costumes: Simona Rybáková.

The vast Renaissance building of the former municipal brewery in Široká Street is home to a gallery of international significance and has been attracting visitors for three decades with annual exhibitions of works by prominent figures in the visual arts as well as a permanent exhibition on the life and work of the Austrian expressionist Egon Schiele. The 2024 season presents a cross-section across the creative periods of one of the most important Czech artists, Jiří Kolář (1914-2002), large-scale paintings by the artist and composer Vladimír Franz, and black-and-white photographs, portraits and views of Vladimír Franz's studio by Ida Saudková.

Discover the charm of a garden studio set in terraces in the peaceful surroundings of the southern meander of the Vltava River. It includes a café and a small exhibition. Open July and August daily from 10:00 until 19:00.
