The grounds of the former monasteries are among the most important landmarks of Český Krumlov. Today you will find the Museum, the Gallery, the Historical Play World, and the Craft Workshops here – a place where you can easily spend the whole day.

Monastery Museum / Authentic atmosphere of a sacred space
Walk through the Gothic cloisters with a unique cycle of lunettes, the Chapel of St. Wolfgang with wall paintings, and the Baroque picture gallery. The main landmark is the Church of the Body of Christ and the Virgin Mary, which serves both as an exhibition space and a living spiritual place. The tour also includes rare Gothic statues and tombstones.

Gallery / Art within monastic walls
In the former cloister and the cells of the Poor Clares, you will find exhibitions of both contemporary and historical art. A place with a strong atmosphere, where history creates a frame for living art. Current exhibitions can be found in the event calendar.

Historical Play World / A creative world for children
Try on period costumes, become a scribe in the Scriptorium, enter the Alchemical Laboratory, or set off on the Dance Macabre trail. The historical playroom with its interactive exhibition is a playful world in the heart of the monastery – perfect for children and their adult companions.

Craft Alley / Artisan workshops
Together with children, you can peek into the work of a glassblower, dyer, leatherworker, potter, or blacksmith. Try silk dyeing, work with glowing iron, make a leather accessory, or create a glass bead. Each workshop tells a different story and offers a unique experience.
