March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb, but before it does, you should definitely spend some time going for a walk, see an exhibition, have a good coffee, listen to a fairy-tale… here are our tips for what to do in Krumlov in March.

Opening hours of sights and museums

Some sights, galleries and museums are still wrapped up in the winter cloak and operating in winter mode. Click the link below to find out which ones and what times they are open – don't worry, there are plenty and you won't be losing out on anything!

Explore and play

Enjoy play time in historical play-room with the little ones and take the older ones for an architectural walk around town. Stop in the Infocentre at Svornosti Square to pick up your brochure entitled "The Renaissance in Krumlov or Hasten Slowly to the Trupeter and Bear" that will guide you through the town.

Exhibitions and more at the 3+ Gallery

The playful exhibition entitled Journey to the Stars presents, for the first time in the Czech Republic, the work of the world-famous and internationally acclaimed illustrator Štěpán Zavrel.

To the Hill of the Cross for a hint of Spring

The walk will take you to a Baroque pilgrimage site on the Hill of the Cross (Křížová hora) above Český Krumlov, a memorable and spiritual place with strong energy and excellent views of the town and the landscape.

Eco Rallye heading to Český Krumlov

Český Krumlov will once again host the Czech New Energies Rallye, a rallye for electric vehicles. This 11th race will take place on the 24th and the 25th March.

Atmosphere of the old days at the Museum Fotoatelier Seidel

Seidel's photographs from the end of the 19th and the first half of the 20th century present Český Krumlov, Šumava and the whole region in a rare integrity and diversity. Seidl's work can be hardly compared to that of any other professional photographer in Bohemia during this period. The museum's exhibition will surprise you with its authenticity, a wealth of unique period photographs, preserved and still functional cameras and the darkroom equipment.

Good food and drink

Enjoy tasty food and refreshing drinks in one of many cosy local restaurants, pubs and cafés as a reward for your adventures and discoveries in and around town.
